Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good machine - negative reviews are unjust
I bought this coffee pot with money we got from our wedding over 8 months ago. The disadvantages/problems are minor in general and in my opinion do not warrant the amount of negative criticism this machine has received. Let me preface this review by saying that I do consider myself to be a coffee snob - I buy my own beans and grind them fresh for every brew. Good coffee is very important to me, especially in the morning. To address some of the more common complaints this machine has (unjustly) ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - A triumph of design over function? Great to look at
...but not if you want to make coffee. Really the usual 'Made in China' crap that much cheaper coffee machines offer. If it breaks - forget them bending over backwards to help you; it's quite the reverse, actually. You have to bend over backwards for them. The worst customer service, over-priced, poor-quality. The serial number is on the bottom of the machine - you'll need to make a note of it and have it handy when you send it back.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Finally a mid-range coffee maker that works
I had a nightmare trying to replace my basic $20 4 cup drip coffee maker, going through a Mr. Coffee Maker that did not work, and not really finding anything for under $100 that met my finance's stringent aesthetic requirements. Everything I looked at had bad reviews and horror stories. So far, both of us are very pleased with the FMF5

The ready beep is audible from rooms away, it is easy to program, and most importantly, it makes decent coffee. I prefer the morning ritual of smelling ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Lasted ~2 mo. & died
Had this unit for less than 2 months.
One morning the 'no water' icon is in the display.
Waited for 1 hr. with it turned off.
Tried again, same thing.
Wish I had got it from Amazon instead of a local store.
Now it's either buy a new one or mail it, at my cost, to Krups.
Should have bought a cheepo Mr. Coffee, at least if it died I'd be out far less money.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not flawless, but works fine
Buying a coffee maker is not straightforward. I read a ton of reviews of many different models when our older coffee maker (a now-discontinued Starbucks Barista model) finally died. I did not see a single coffee maker that had uniformly positive reviews, and I also didn't find one that had every feature we were looking for. We decided to give this one a shot; all of the negative reviews made us pretty skeptical, but so far it has been working well for us.

We were looking for a coffee ... Read More
